VISITING

The fernery and gardens are open from Easter to October, from 10am to 5pm. We are CLOSED Mondays and Tuesdays.

 
Admission:  

£4.00 (Season ticket £10.00)
Children under supervision, free
Sorry, no dogs

Group discount. 10 persons or more 10% reduction on admission price.

There is a small car park inside the front gates.

Coaches (by prior appointment) may park outside the front gates.

     
How to get here:  

By car from Glasgow (M8 via Greenock) to Wemyss Bay ferry terminal. Thirty-five minute crossing by Caledonian MacBrayne car/passenger ferry www.calmac.co.uk.

On exiting from pier turn left and drive along coast road for 3 miles. A sign at the roadside marks The Victorian Fernery.

     
OR:  

The scenic, but longer, route via Loch Lomond and Arrochar to Colintraive. Five minutes on ferry to Rhubodach, Bute, then 11 miles by road (A886) to Ascog Hall.

By train - there are several train departures each day from Glasgow Central Station to Wemyss Bay station and ferry terminal.

From Easter to end September a special service bus runs frequently from Rothesay to Ascog Hall and Mount Stuart.
